How this calculator works
Every country has a Eurostat comparative price-level index, what a standardised basket of goods and services costs there, with the EU-27 average set to 100. To keep the same standard of living when you move, your income needs to scale by the ratio of the two price levels: destination index ÷ origin index. We apply that ratio to the income you enter, and break it down by category so you can see where the difference comes from.
This is a directional estimate, not a budget. Real costs depend on your housing, lifestyle and city - a capital is usually pricier than the national average. Treat the result as a starting point, then open each country's profile for the full category detail.
